Running a scheme on EqasOnline

What is EqasOnline?

Software for running proficiency testing and EQA schemes end to end: rounds, samples, results, ISO 13528 statistics, reports and certificates. PT providers run their schemes from the provider console, and the laboratories taking part use the lab portal.

Which fields does it fit?

Schemes scored against a robust consensus, such as construction materials, soil and agriculture, veterinary diagnostics, presence/absence microbiology and clinical EQA.

Where EqasOnline fits, field by field
How do we set up a scheme?

Build tests in the provider console with your own measurands, units and result fields, then create rounds with their dates, participating labs and samples.

Programs & rounds
Which statistical methods are used?

ISO 13528 methods, applied by one server-side engine the same way every round.

The methods and their thresholds
Does EqasOnline replace ISO/IEC 17043 accreditation?

No. Accreditation is granted to a PT provider by an accreditation body such as NABL, SANAS or UKAS, never to software. EqasOnline supports your ISO/IEC 17043 work and keeps the records an assessor asks to see.

ISO/IEC 17043 support
Can we run a scheme with participants in other countries?

Yes. Participants register with free-text international addresses and phone numbers, both portals run in a web browser, and round deadlines are set in your time zone. The portals, reports and emails are in English.

Can EqasOnline connect to our laboratory information system?

Not directly: there is no connection to laboratory information systems today. Participants enter their results in their own portal, against your units and parameters. If you need a direct connection, tell us about your systems.

Can we get all of our data out?

Yes. Results export to Excel, the analysis and the audit log to CSV, and reports to PDF.

Data security
How is participant data protected?

Your staff work under role-based permissions, and each lab sees only its own results and anonymised peer statistics, after you release them.

Data security
Is training provided?

Both portals include guided tours and a help centre. Contact us to arrange onboarding for your team.

Can we see it running before we commit?

Yes. Book a 30-minute demo and we will run one full round in both portals, from item check to issued report, on your own scheme structure.

How do I register my laboratory?

With the provider code your PT provider gives you, or on your provider's own registration page if it sent you a link.

Lab guide
Where do I get a provider code?

From your PT provider. EqasOnline does not issue codes.

When can I sign in?

Once your provider approves your registration. If you have not received your sign-in details, ask your provider.

Lab portal
How do I submit results?

Enter them in the lab portal before the round's deadline; you can edit them until then. If you have not submitted, you get reminders by email and in the portal three days and one day before the deadline.

Where do I find my reports and certificate?

In the lab portal, once your provider releases the round's reports. At the end of each cycle you print your Certificate of Achievement from the portal.

What if a sample arrives damaged?

When you confirm receipt in the lab portal, record its condition as not acceptable and describe the problem in the remarks. Your provider sees it straight away.

What does my z-score mean?

How far your result is from the assigned value, measured in units of σpt. It is rated satisfactory, questionable or unsatisfactory.

How results are scored
How do I reset my password?

Use the password reset on the lab portal's sign-in page; you confirm it with a one-time code sent by email.

Which browsers work?

A current version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox.

Who do I ask for help?

Your PT provider: it runs your scheme and manages your laboratory's account. For a problem with this website, contact us.
