Your Privacy is Our Priority

6.1 What we record

• a random visitor ID created by your browser and kept in its local storage (not a cookie; it contains nothing about you)
• a session ID that ends after 30 minutes without activity, or when you arrive through a link with different campaign tags
• for each page you view: the page address without any query string or fragment, the page title, the time, and how long the page was visible
• the domain of the website that sent you here (for example google.com), not the full address
• campaign tags in the link you followed (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content), and whether the link carried an advertising click ID (gclid, fbclid or msclkid); we record only that one was present, not its value. A tag that contains an email address, a phone number or a long identifier is discarded.
• on the PT scheme directory: the search words and filters you use and how many results they returned, which listings you open, and your clicks on a provider's website link and on the “List your scheme” and “Claim this listing” links. A search word that looks like an email address or a phone number is discarded.

6.2 Network and approximate location

Our server looks up your IP address in an offline copy of the DB-IP Lite databases kept on our own server, to derive the country, region, city and the name of the network you connect from (for example a company, university or internet provider). For this, your IP address is not sent to anyone else. The analytics records keep only a shortened form of it (the first three numbers of an IPv4 address, e.g. 203.0.113.0/24, or the first 48 bits of an IPv6 address), never the full address.

6.3 Interest score

Our server summarises each visitor's activity as an interest score from 0 to 100, based on the number of visits and pages viewed, which pages were viewed (for example lab registration or contact), how recently, and how long the pages were visible. Visitors above a set score are marked as hot leads. The network you connect from is labelled as an organisation, an internet provider or a hosting or cloud provider; visitors on hosting and cloud networks are treated as likely automated traffic and are never marked as hot leads. Our team uses the score to decide which organisations to follow up with first.

6.4 Linking visits to an enquiry

If you send the contact form, ask for the one-page overview, ask to list a PT scheme in the directory or register a lab, the form also sends the visitor ID. We then link your earlier visits to that enquiry or registration so our team can see which pages you looked at. Your contact details stay where they are already kept (our contact inbox, the listing request or the lab account) and are not copied into the analytics records. The email our team receives for a contact form then also contains a reference to your visitor record and a link to your visit history in our admin portal.

6.5 Who can see it

Only EqasOnline super administrators. We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers, and we do not use third-party analytics services for it.

6.6 Retention

Visit records are deleted automatically 13 months after your last activity.

6.7 Your choices

Visitor analytics records nothing if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. You can object to visitor analytics at any time by opting out below, or by writing to us (section 7). Opting out stops visitor analytics in this browser, deletes the visitor ID from your browser, and asks our server to delete the visits recorded under that ID. The opt-out is stored in this browser for eqasonline.com, the only address where visitor analytics runs: if you clear its site data or use another browser, opt out there too. Other requests: see section 7.

The same signals and the opt-out also stop the one-page overview offer that can appear once as you leave the site. When it appears, or when you send the overview or contact form, this browser stores only the time (in its local storage, not a cookie) so the offer is not shown again for 30 days. That time is not sent to us.

6.8 Error and performance monitoring

Separately from visitor analytics, the website reports the pages opened, errors and page-load performance measurements to our own monitoring server (monitor.eqasonline.com), so that we can find and fix problems. These reports contain the page address with any query string, fragment and identifiers removed, error messages with email addresses and tokens removed, your browser's name, version, operating system and user-agent string, and a session ID kept only for the browser tab. They do not use the visitor ID and are not linked to visits, enquiries or the interest score. They are kept for 7 days. Like any request to our servers, they also appear in our web server's request logs, which include the IP address. Global Privacy Control, Do Not Track and the opt-out above apply to visitor analytics, not to this monitoring.
